A new study has found that women-led startups have outperformed the ecosystem. The study said that investments in such companies fell only 14% in 2022 when the entire ecosystem witnessed a dip of almost 40%.
The report by Tracxn Technologies, a market intelligence platform, said that among all the cities in India, women-led startups in Bengaluru have garnered the highest funding of $11.3 billion. Delhi-NCR ($5.7 billion) and Mumbai ($3.5 billion) emerge second and third in the same list.
News reports citing the study added that the share of startups in the Indian tech industry has crossed 8 percent, and surpassed more than 18 percent among funded companies.
The study revealed there has been a steep fall in the overall funding in India’s startup ecosystem, which is the world’s third-largest. The funding fell to $26.9 billion from $42.9 billion a year earlier.
