Take ‘pride’ in your inclusion agenda

The Best of the Best Conference held recently saw companies presenting their best practices. Citi’s session, ‘Pride in Inclusion’, touched upon the rainbow of programs and policies supporting different diversity strands.

Subha V, APAC Lead at Citi, took the audience through Citi’s Best Practices by delivering a Ted-style talk on “Pride in Inclusion”. Subha iterated that Citi was an equal employment opportunity provider.

Citi sensitizes its hiring managers by executing inclusive hiring workshops periodically. They ensure that their job descriptions are continuously reviewed. Marking June as their PRIDE month, Citi also conducts a PRIDE walk. Citi rejoices in September to celebrate their allies. They engage their LGBTQ+ community by conducting interactive workshops on LGBTQ+ to understand them better. This workshop is also open to their allies.

Citi invests in the mental well-being of its employees by periodically checking on them through the employee assistance program.

They also have dedicated counselors for their LGBTQ+ community. They partner with Perriferry to educate and onboard People with Disabilities.

The organization truly believes that Business is Good by identifying and working with inclusive suppliers to extend their concept of inclusion.

Generational diversity is posing challenges to organizations, and Citi has already upped its game by encouraging reverse mentoring. They currently have 23 active reverse mentoring pairs.

Their other benefits include domestic relocation benefits, gender-neutral washrooms, preferred pronouns, and voluntary self-ID.
