‘Project Nur’ shines hope for marginalized groups

ITC Hotels has launched ‘Project Nur’ to enable employment for marginalized groups. The project, which is implemented at the ITC Kohenur in Hyderabad, aims to provide enhanced employment and growth opportunities for women, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQIA+ community, according to reports by Hotelier India.

The report quoted Shaariq Akhtar, General Manager, ITC Kohenur, as saying, “The name for the initiative, ‘Nur’ means light and the team at ITC Kohenur hopes to radiate positivity to all those who wish to work with the hotel team and make a significant contribution with their skill set.”

“What we do today as an organization will shape our future. ITC hotels have always pioneered such landmark initiatives that inspire the hospitality industry,” he added. Pointing out that accepting and respecting everyone for who they are is important, as human beings are humans, the report further said.

Of the 400 associates, there are over 100 women, a few with disabilities, and a few from the LGBTQIA + community.
