Zainab Patel to head D&I at PRI

Pernod Ricard India (PRI) has reiterated its commitment to diversity and inclusion by appointing Zainab Patel as the head of Diversity and Inclusion.

Zainab is a transgender woman known for her work in the space of D&I. She was also the United Nations staff member focusing on human rights, gender equality, and health in India and the Asia Pacific Region.

Stressing that PRI, a key player in the spirits industry, is committed to accelerating its D&I efforts, Nitu Bhushan, CHRO, Pernod Ricard India, said that the company aims to increase diversity representation at all levels. “At Pernod Ricard, we are focused on creating a convivial culture that enables our people to be their most authentic selves at work, empowered to thrive and grow in the organization. Our aspirational goals and a comprehensive action plan aim to increase diverse representation at all levels and create an even stronger culture of inclusion for all of our people. An early co-relation of our emphasis on fostering an inclusive work environment that includes an increased emphasis on diversity in our recruiting, in each of our departments, and our leadership, is reflected in the continued strengthening of our business case and growth momentum at Pernod Ricard India,” reports quoted her as saying.

Pernod Ricard India has Increased gender parity with women constituting 50 percent of all new hires. It has also doubled female representation at most manufacturing units, with over 50 percent gender diversity in the South and East Zone. One-third of its leadership is women.
