Warner Music Group (WMG) has launched its Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Institute (DEI). The institute, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the music industry, will serve as the hub of learning, innovation, and action.
WMG says that the DEI institute will come up with educational initiatives like the company’s MOVEMENT DEI education series, a rotating set of dialogue-based workshops. “It will be a place, where learn, grow, and reflect together on key aspects of diversity, equity, and inclusion including anti-racism, ableism, homophobia, and sexism,” reports quoted the statement by WMG.
Warner Music Group Global Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Dr. Maurice A. Stinnett, has said that the group has taken a bold step to adopt diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts to institutionalize the hub of training and innovation.
“I am thrilled to partner with some of the most brilliant minds in our industry and culture to further develop our leaders and offer educational opportunities for everyone at WMG,” Dr. Maurice was quoted by reports as saying.
Another highlight of the institute will be the employees being part of the project team. They will have the opportunity to enhance cross-cultural and cross-business collaboration and continue to help drive DEI change-making.
