Reiterating its commitment to the Qatar National Vision 2030, the state of Qatar has said that continuous efforts were being made in the development of women as part of policies, enabling their equal participation in sustainable development efforts.
Sheikha Al Maha bint Mubarak Al Thani, third Secretary of Qatar’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, made the statement at the general debate in the Third Committee of the 77th Session of the General Assembly on the item Advancement of Women, said reports in The Peninsula.
Al Thani added that the policies aimed to offer equal opportunities for women in areas like education, employment, and care. She also pointed out that the State of Qatar topped in indicators like gender equality, women’s participation in the labor force, pay parity in the government sector, and female enrolment in universities.
Turning the spotlight on policies that helped women balance family and work, she also observed that they ensured their participation in the workforce—public and private sectors.
