Now, a grant to support women’s health in the workplace

A new grant will look to address women health considering issues like fertility problems, miscarriage and pregnancy loss, menstrual health, and gynecological conditions in the workplace in the UK.

As per news reports, the new funding is for voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) sector organizations. The grant of £200,000 –£600,000 per applicant will be available over the next three years to develop and expand projects aiming to cover the above issues.

The grant has been set up to build on the Women’s Health Vision by the government. The vision aims to support women in the workplace by enabling them to realize their fullest potential.

These are the objectives of the vision:

  • Women get the support in the workplace
  • Removing the secrecy around issues through open conversation
  • Empowering the employers to support women in managing their health within the workplace

Minister for Women’s Health Maria Caulfield was quoted as saying: “Women’s health should not impact their employment opportunities. This grant funding will ensure the voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector can better support women, who are experiencing reproductive health issues to remain in or return to the workplace.”
