Microsoft has followed in the footsteps of several companies like LinkedIn, Netflix Inc, etc., with unlimited time off for its US employees.
Employees with unused vacation balance will receive a one-time payout in April, added news reports.
The new leave policy, which comes into effect from January 16, will cover unlimited vacation days apart from other leaves.
News reports quoted the announcement as saying, “Microsoft will offer 10 corporate holidays, leaves of absence, sick and mental health time off, and time away from jury duty or bereavement alongside this new unlimited time off policy.”
The company has said: with a change in how a job is performed, a flexible policy is a ‘natural step’.
