Mahindra Group inks MoU for women’s economic empowerment

As part of their ESG commitment, Mahindra Group has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to work on economic empowerment and gender equality initiatives.

These will be an important step for the organization towards achieving its goal of impacting 1 million women annually from 2026.

It is seen as an essential step towards contributing to India’s efforts towards gender equality and women’s economic empowerment through workforce participation.

The joint programs will have government, NGOs, corporates, and institutions as the key stakeholders.

News reports quoted a Mahindra representative as saying that this was an essential community development measure benefitting women from disadvantaged groups.

“This partnership is core to our Rise philosophy of driving positive change in the lives of our communities. Together, we will create a collaborative platform that will provide holistic solutions to underprivileged women across the country leveraging the power of technology,” Mahindra Group Managing Director & CEO Anish Shah was quoted in reports as saying.
