Fast-food chain KFC India has launched an area coaches program for women to create an ecosystem for women to head operations.
In a tie-up with the Indian School of Hospitality, the program aims to facilitate the growth of women operation leaders.
Taking a vow to double its women workforce across its restaurants under its DEI program, the coaching program focuses on enabling women to sharpen the know-how behind operations, strengthen their business and financial acumen and leadership skills.
After the 11-month program, the women cohort will have operational positions within KFC in India.
According to news reports, the highlights are a live-wire curriculum, modern pedagogy, and industry immersion. There is a need for more women leaders to inspire women to join the workforce, as per the statement by KFC. The idea behind the program is to hire, train and grow women leaders who can take up senior roles in the business.
This 11-month management development program is now open and inviting candidates for an exclusive KFC-ISH PGP Batch starting Jan 2022.
Avtar Group, a pioneer in the space of DEI in India, has been batting for a change in the ecosystem for women to thrive. Such mentoring programs in the industry give the much-needed impetus to close the gender gap across sectors.
KFC also has been opening chains of restaurants run exclusively by women. The most recent one was inaugurated in Hyderabad early this year.
