IIM-Shillong sees higher female enrolment

The 2023-2025 batch of IIM Shillong has registered a gender balance with its enrolment, as female participants represent 51.6% of the enrolment, while male participants account for 48.4%.
The institute has recently registered 370 participants for its Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Management, leading to the MBA degree. This is the 16th batch of this program. The institute noted that the marginally higher representation of female participants in the batch, was a tribute to the matrilineal society of the Khasi tribe. Notably, the enrolment of female students has witnessed a remarkable increase of over 100% compared to the previous year (2022), making IIM Shillong one of the preferred destinations for young MBA aspirants.
Prof. D P Goyal Director of IIM Shillong, acknowledged that they maintained their position as one of the preferred destinations for higher studies, attracting students from various backgrounds. He highlighted the significant increase in the number of female participants, surpassing expectations by more than 100%.
