Aiming to boost women’s participation in the organization to meet its gender diversity goals, HDFC Bank recently inaugurated an all-women branch at Kozhikode in North Kerala.
With four women bankers, the latest branch in the location considered to be the hub of traders is the first to be opened in the region, said news reports.
The branch is an attempt to add impetus to its diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, according to a statement by HDFC Bank. The statement added that there was a focus on gender diversity as part of its ongoing initiatives.
News reports added that women constitute over 21% of the bank’s workforce and that the efforts were directed towards increasing it to 25% by 2025.
