At Genpact, inclusion is anchored in being an equal opportunity employer, and their women leadership initiative reflects this commitment. Details of the Women’s Leadership Program was presented by Sonali Jain, Inclusion Leader, Programs, External partnerships, Genpact –APAC, at Best of Best Conference &Awards 2025. Launched in 2019, the program began with a simple whiteboard exercise: mapping the leadership pipeline and recognizing how sharply it thinned toward senior levels. The priority became clear—strengthen the middle management layer.
Although COVID-19 delayed execution, it never dimmed the energy of the participants or sponsors. The business case was compelling: the organization needed stronger women role models, a future-ready leadership pool, and equitable visibility for women talent.
Designed in collaboration with global experts, the program explored what the persona of a successful woman leader could look like—especially in a world shaped by digital transformation, AI, and evolving skills. The curriculum blended commercial acumen, confidence-building, and future skills development.
Crucially, managers weren’t passive observers—they were sensitized, involved, and asked to give regular feedback. Sponsors played an active role, ensuring participants became more visible across the global organization.
Over multiple cohorts, the outcomes have been powerful. Participants engaged in business-relevant projects, competed in in-person hackathons, and showcased their capabilities across teams and geographies. Today, the top women from each cohort are tracked closely for career progressions and promotions.
As Sonali emphasized, the program can train and prepare women, but the business must own and invest in their careers. And that shared responsibility is what continues to make this initiative stronger with every cohort.
