Axis Bank aims at 30% women in the workforce by 2027

Axis Bank has set a target of 30% women in its workforce in the next five years.

The bank has 24.7% women in its workforce and has increased its representation by over 5% in the last year, according to news reports.

Axis has also been working conscientiously towards building a healthy talent pipeline of women across levels. One notable initiative is WE Lead, a campus program, for nurturing women leaders at the middle-management level. For this, Axis has partnered with eight leading business schools and is hiring women leaders across roles and with skills related to technology, digital, analytics, payments, and product management. In fiscal 2022, the program recruited 42% of the total Tier 1 campus hires.

The company has also been conducting programs to mitigate non-conscious bias like ‘Pause for Bias’ for employees across officers, said reports.

Earlier this year, ‘HouseWorkisWork’, a hiring initiative by the bank, aimed to bring women who are not in jobs into the workforce by offering them an opportunity to launch their careers after a break for many reasons like family care and motherhood.
