Across the globe, organizations reinforce support for LGBTQ+

On International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia observed on May 17, organizations across the globe reinforced their commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion.

The European Investment Bank group shared a message to reaffirm its pledge to respect, protect and promote the full and equal enjoyment of the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex individuals.

The group also stressed the ‘culture of allyship and support, empowering and actively engaging people in creating greater equity and an environment in which all can thrive’.

Air France organized special flights to Montreal and Dusseldorf, in association with Personn’Ailes. They demonstrated support with the presence of several members of the company’s Executive Committee. Special announcements were made on board and the Rainbow flag was waved through the cockpit window on arrival in Canada. The organization also conducted an in-house webinar on the visibility of lesbian women in the workplace.

International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOTB) is observed every year on May 17, and this year’s theme was “Together Always: United in Diversity”. The United Nations called upon members to ensure that there is no discrimination against the group, and to end violence against them, observing that they remain vulnerable.
