| Hello Power Changers,
It feels good to connect with you after what seems like a long time – yes, I admit – we are a bit behind schedule this time and I have only the Puja holidays to blame!
But, it does generate a great sense of peace when one celebrates festivals in a large group. In olden days, work created communities – our own Vedas speak in detail about the caste system, created to ensure clarity in terms of division of labour. Festivals which were celebrated too had relevance to reinforcing of beliefs and customs. Today, in this cyber-hyper age, festivals have morphed into occasions for eating differently, dressing differently and maybe visiting relatives!

|

Lest you think I’m a shirker, let me hasten to add that I love my job – I work as an operations executive at a leading bank and get paid well. It’s the sort of job...

Flexi-time job prospects brighten for qualified women
K. T. Jagannathan, The Hindu, 16/08/2006 |
CHENNAI: Thanks to globalisation and the resultant outsourcing possibilities, the job market in India has been witnessing a drastic change of late. Flexi-time jobs were unheard of a few years ago. Today, these have become a part of the evolving global village where the accent is on 24/7 services.
And, there is also greater keenness among corporates to keep the labour arbitrage advantage in tact, especially in the wake of rising levels of attrition rates. Sensing...

When the Golden Rule Doesn't Work
|
|

A lot of executives assume that their staff members should act exactly as they do -- and enjoy what they enjoy. You can't blame them. Most leaders feel great about themselves. If I were a successful boss, I would be tempted to populate my...
